Earned value

Earned value management software for construction programmes

Track SPI, CPI and earned-value curves straight off your CPM programme updates. TideLine turns each schedule update into performance data you can put in front of a board, without rebuilding spreadsheets every month.

EV from the programme

Planned value, earned value and performance indices derived from the schedule updates you already issue.

Trend, not snapshot

Curves and indices tracked update by update so slippage is visible before it becomes a claim.

Float and criticality

Float histograms, relationship density and critical-path movement alongside the EV picture.

Reportable output

Board-ready charts and a written performance narrative generated from the same data.

What earned value tells you that a bar chart does not

A Gantt shows intent. Earned value shows achievement against that intent in a single comparable number. Schedule performance index (SPI) compares work earned to work planned; cost performance index (CPI) compares work earned to cost spent. Read together across updates they show whether recovery is real or rhetorical.

The hard part in construction is rarely the formula — it is getting consistent data out of successive programme updates. TideLine takes the updates as they are and computes the curves from them.

From update to executive report

Load each monthly update, and TideLine recalculates progress, float and earned-value metrics. The Metrics module holds the analytics; the AI Advisor drafts a schedule-health or progress narrative grounded in the actual figures, which you can edit before it goes out.

The result is a monthly report cycle measured in minutes rather than days, with the same method applied every period.

Where EV meets delay analysis

Loss of productivity and disruption claims live or die on trend evidence. Earned-value curves across contemporaneous updates are among the clearest ways to show that output rate fell, and when. TideLine keeps those curves next to the delay windows and the critical-path movement that caused them.

Frequently asked questions

Does TideLine need cost data to produce earned value?
Schedule-based earned value works from the programme alone. Where cost or resource data exists in the import, TideLine uses it to add cost performance alongside schedule performance.
Which import formats are supported?
Primavera P6 XER exports, plus schedules built directly in the Schedule module.
Which plan includes earned value metrics?
The Metrics module is included in the Professional plan at $49/month and above; a 14-day free trial is available without a card.
